Job Background/context

The EMEA Power Gas and Emissions trading business has seen rapid growth of customer activity due to the growth in global gas availability in the form of LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) and the push for renewable energy to meet CO2 targets in the European Union. This has created demand for structured products to better monetize LNG contracts, Power Generation Assets and hedging of Emissions Allowance exposures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing innovative structured transactions to solve client needs with corporate clients holding physical exposure with embedded optionality, or asset managers/hedge funds who can benefit from tactical or enhanced yield opportunities in Power Gas and Emissions.

  • Managing approval and booking processes for bespoke trades in Commodities Exotics systems.

  • Running and analyzing the risk of the Options portfolios across Power and Gas business, and developing optimal hedging to manage risk that can't be traded out in vanilla form.
  • Correctly analysing and pricing liquid and illiquid risk components of trades.

  • Working with risk and MQA teams to optimize pricing and risk models, funding and FVA management, rates/commodities cross-gamma, as well as improving analytical tools for all of these.



  • Extensive years of experience in trading exotic derivative trades in commodities

  • Extensive years of experience in investor and hedge fund structuring and pricing, including securitised products

  • Extensive years of experience in pricing illiquid risk, working with valuations team/MQA/finance/risk support functions. Understanding of differential discounting, funding and FVA exposures.


  • Quantitative background with expert proficiency in Excel

  • Proficiency in VBA or a programming language is a plus (specifically Python)

  • Organized, with attention to detail and ability to multi-task

  • Willingness to work in a demanding team-oriented environment

  • Very strong interpersonal and communication skills, to deal with internal/external traders/sales/research


  • Education - Bachelor or Master Degree in Finance and/or Engineering/Science/Math
