The role sits within the Operations team reporting to the Portfolio Accounting Manager. Your focus will be to act as liaison officer for the administrator and third party custodian as well as keeping Aladdin in line with fund accounting records.

The role sits within the Operations team reporting to the  Portfolio Accounting Manager.  Your focus will be to act as liaison officer for the administrator and third party custodian as well as keeping Aladdin in line with fund accounting records.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Act as point of contact for the administrator HSBC and third party custodians for queries.
  • Act as point of contact for fund managers and internal teams for cash and stock queries.
  • Produce monthly and quarterly cash/asset reconciliations and market value reconciliations where required.
  • Monitor and ensure receipts of fee rebates liaising with internal teams as required.
  • Monitor and investigate overdrafts and escalate as appropriate.
  • Participate in process review meetings and help define the furture state for Jupiter.
  • Develop understanding of HSBC’s current process and document.
  • Produce daily NAV reconciliations to fund accountant to ensure the bottom line market value is within tolerance.
  • Investigate discrepancies from daily NAV reconciliations which fail tolerance checks.
  • Post cash items into Aladdin in advance of settlement date (fx’s, cash flows, rebates, distributions etc).
  • Business process review of accounting practices at HSBC.

Experience/Skills Required

  • Experience of investment accounting.
  • Experience of cash/ asset recs as well as market value recs.
  • Understanding of corporate actions.
  • Knowledge of performance calculations and benchmarks.
  • Knowledge of Aladdin (desirable not essential)
  • Exposure to accounting projects (desirable not essential)
  • Excel, Word and Powerpoint skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Analytical and numerate.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Good communicator.
  • Knowledge of Vermillion (desirable not essential)
