Role Context:

"The M&G plc Risk function is responsible for effectively advising and challenging key stakeholders, challenging risks effectively and proactively, and adding value through providing enhanced business insights to ensure that risk is managed in line with the expectations of clients, shareholders and regulators, and to support the delivery of customers' long term needs. A key programme of activity is being performed in 2022 to further enhance the embeddedness of risk management practices across M&G plc. A Non-Financial Risk Programme Manager is required to focus and drive forwards the programme management and oversight of the Non-Financial Risk changes, including delivery of business processes, systems and technologies impacting the teams.
Working closely with the programme management team, you will support the delivery of programme and change strategies, and work with non-financial risk and business teams to monitor and deliver the programme to deliver sustained change. Work Level Accountabilities:

Manager or Expert:
  • For people managers, accountable for managing and motivating others to ensure quality of delivery to customers and stakeholders
  • For technical specialists, accountable for delivering expert advice or service, using specialist knowledge and subject matter expertise
  • Applies judgement to deliver outcomes, evaluating a range of potential solutions, considering the impact for customers, cost and risk
  • Manages conflicts that may impact delivery
  • Challenges upwards given knowledge of delivery and awareness of complex systems and the broader picture
  • Identifies and anticipates need for changes to continuously improve quality and efficiency of output

Key Responsibilities for this role:

  • You will oversee and assess non-financial risk programme progress and impacts by Business Area, working with key programme partners across the business to deliver programme activities. This will include monitoring change delivery and readiness in each area.
  • You will apply programme and change management processes and tools, including dependency identification and monitoring, to build a strategy to support the adoption and delivery of changes required by the programme.
  • You will report on Programme Progress to key governance forums including the Programme Steering Committee. This will include escalating promptly any material issues with programme delivery.
  • You will partner with and support non-financial Risk and 1st line leadership teams to build a change network for key initiatives to deliver the plan.
  • Complete change management assessments - Identify, mitigate and manage anticipated resistance, issues, and risks, proactively.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge and experience of implementing programme and change management principles, methodologies and tools, preferably as part of a risk management programme.
  • Strong experience and understanding of Risk Management Approaches, Policies, Systems and Tools.
  • Experience with large-scale organisational change efforts and understanding of how people journey through change.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Organised, with a natural inclination for both strategic and tactical planning and turn strategy into tangible deliverables.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills, to audiences of varying seniority.
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills.
  • High level of integrity, energy and sense of prioritisation to make things happen.
  • Ability to establish and maintain trust, credibility and build strong relationships.
  • Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere.
  • Willing to take action and enjoy working in a dynamic environment.
