Newton, Investment Writer

Job Purpose:

Oversee the production of regular fund and strategy commentaries in order to communicate Newton's investment performance and approach - both externally and internally, but principally to clients invested in pooled funds or segregated portfolios. Support the production of other investment-related/thought-leadership content as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Work closely with the investment, portfolio management support and client reporting teams to produce quarterly and monthly (where required) investment commentary, including:

    • commentary for segregated portfolio, pooled fund and Bank Collective client reports

    • commentary for quarterly factsheets across all jurisdictions

    • ESG voting and engagement comments for use in quarterly reports and the full quarterly responsible investment report

  • Ensure all content is fully compliant and that an efficient sign-off/approval process is in place

  • Produce monthly fund commentary/updates for internal use by sales teams, and additional commentary in response to ad-hoc requests to support sales/retention activities

  • Create and update sales materials such as fund/strategy brochures

  • As part of the wider communications team, support the creation of a wide variety of investment-related and other content, including 'Fly on the wall' blog posts, with particular focus on content that supports Newton as a thought leader and active community partner.

  • Draft and submit award submissions


Qualifications

Job Specific Competencies:
  • Excellent command of the English language, with proven writing and editing skills
  • Demonstrates accuracy and attention to detail when writing/editing material
  • Team player, with excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Significant industry experience, preferably within a similar role
  • Degree-level educated.
