Newton, Head of Portfolio Implementation
To ensure the effective management of the Portfolio Implementation team ensuring that orders are implemented on behalf of Portfolio Managers in line with client investment objectives and guidelines and Newton Investment Policy in an efficient manner.

To oversee the Portfolio Implementation team and contribute, as required, to ensure smooth operational efficiency at Newton
Translate model changes from Portfolio Managers into security orders across all markets and asset classes, adhering to client guidelines and restrictions, internal policy, underlying investment strategy and regulatory requirements
Continuous re-alignment of portfolios, including management of cash flows, based on agreed guidelines
Manage rebalancing of portfolios in a timely and effective manner
Ensure implementation playbooks are accurate and up to date at all times
To keep up to date with regulatory changes impacting portfolio implementation
Work closely with Technology teams to enhance / implement technology solutions
Manage the workflow within the team
To undertake specific projects as requested by management
Provide appropriate information to management, Dealing Oversight group, Investment Risk Oversight group and Investment Oversight committee.
Ensure process documentation is in place and regularly reviewed / updated
Job Specific Competencies:
Technical Knowledge and Experience:
- Degree educated or equivalent
- Relevant experience in a similar role
- Ability to work with portfolio managers and dealers across a variety of asset classes
- Ability to present in a small group setting.
- A thorough understanding of Mandates, Benchmarks, Risk Measures (absolute and relative) and Compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions
- A thorough understanding of all financial instrument types including derivatives both OTC and Exchange listed
- Knowledge of Charles River would be advantageous
- Proven expertise in team management including mentoring and development of junior team members
- Advanced technical skills (i.e. Excel)
- CFA, IMC or other relevant post graduate qualification preferred
