The successful candidate will support more senior colleagues in helping to coordinate PMG’s quarterly valuation process, working alongside other PMG stakeholders and our internal and external valuers. In this capacity, the successful candidate will also be expected to provide technical expertise to other AM team members on PMG’s valuation models, ensuring they remain fit-for-purpose and are consistently executed and managed across PMG.

Key responsibilities

Own Function (AM) Responsibilities

  • Initially the role will support a project to centralise the PMG valuation models within the AM team and will work alongside dedicated project and/or consultant resource to successfully implement this initiative
  • Once the project is delivered, to provide support to the AM team on valuation models and ensure clean transfer of models from deal team where acquisition models are transformed into valuation models, support the valuation framework and oversee and coordinate the model attestation / model audit process with Op risk
  • To help embed modelling knowledge and valuation best practice within the AM team

Broader (PMG) Responsibilities

  • Coordinate PMG’s input to USS / USSIM valuation exercises
  • Influence PMG activity through formal committees and working groups as well as regular discussions

 

Your experience

Experience

  • Demonstrable track record of asset management of privately-held companies within a Private Equity and/or Infrastructure setting
  • Likely to have worked in a similar role in one or more of the following: GP, Pension Fund, Asset / Fund Manager
  • Experience within a Financial Services’ consultancy / transaction services’ organisation would also be considered

Skills and Technical Competencies

  • Familiarity with industry-standard valuation practices, and knowledge of key financial terms
  • Excellent financial/valuation modelling capabilities
  • Highly numerate (Accountancy qualification is considered advantageous but not a necessity)
  • Great attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player
  • Self-starter with ‘can do’ attitude, highly organised and ability to prioritise
