Our Principle Software Engineers and Chapter Leads are vital in ensuring the products we deliver are fit for purpose and meet the quality and standards that our users expect.

What would you get involved with?

You'll fulfil the role of software engineer within the Finance component team (CT Finance) which sits within the Post Trade lab.

Embracing the agile methodology, you'll be able to demonstrate working within an agile framework (e.g. Kanban and Scrum) and will collaborate with fellow engineers to develop high quality innovative solutions and maintain a stable production environment.

The well-established CT Finance team applications include Aptitude, Oracle GL, GL Datamart and STB. The operating environment for these applications is currently being enhanced to demonstrate a range of Dev Ops tools to improve quality of software, speed up development, reduce testing cycle durations, reduce risk and reduce time to market.
Key Responsibilities

  • Generation of new, and maintenance of, existing Microgen Aptitude projects
  • Software development (unix scripting, PL/SQL)
  • You'll translate complex functional and technical requirements into user stories
  • Become an application SME and share knowledge across the team
  • Work with the Production support team to determine incident root cause, manage/fix production incidents in a timely manner
  • Work with team, partners and vendors to ensure quality delivery of software
  • You'll maintain a focus on reducing risk and building confidence in the team and its partners on the quality of Engineering
  • You'll ensure Engineering is conducted in a way which is consistent with the collective views, frameworks, patterns and standard methodologies that exist across the wider Engineering community
  • You'll ensure area of responsibility is aligned with overall engineering strategies and transformation, pushing boundaries and seeking opportunities to improve
  • 3rd line overnight support (rota basis - training to be provided)
About you...

  • Detailed technical knowledge of Oracle e-business suite General Ledger module
  • Ability to interpret, design and build PL/SQL packages , Unix scripts and projects within Microgen Aptitude Studio
  • You'll have a real passion for coaching other engineers and building a strong team culture
  • Finance/Accounting/Regulatory reporting experience essential
  • Usage of automated testing techniques
  • Excellent collaboration, interpersonal and communications skills
  • Demonstrable experience of partner management at varying levels of a large organisation
  • Experience in a range of engineering practices, tools and ceremonies
