The Value Creation Services (VCS) team is a core part of Deloitte’s market leading Post Merger Integration group. Our team offers post-deal hands-on support to companies that are facing cash & EBITDA performance challenges and operational turnaround situations.

We work directly with senior management to rapidly stabilise and improve financial and operational performance by developing and implementing cash and EBITDA improvements.

Our involvement helps reassure stakeholders that the company is taking the right steps at an accelerated pace to address its problems and maximise its value.

Role description

This is your opportunity to use your experience of performance improvement and turnaround in a stimulating new environment, joining the Financial Advisory practice of Deloitte. 

Our VCS practice is experiencing rapid growth and we now have multiple opportunities across the team to recruit high calibre delivery individuals to support our Private Equity and corporate clients in deploying a PE Lens to performance improvement and turnaround. 

The successful candidate will demonstrate a good understanding of financial and analytical accounting, a strong track record in supporting performance improvement and operational turnarounds, will have some experience building 13 week cash flows, and have strong Excel/PowerPoint skills.

Location

You will be based in a Deloitte London office, however travel will be required for client based projects. We work across industries – our clients are varied, and vary in location. Whilst some clients are London based, we do spend time on site with regional and overseas clients.

Hours

This is a permanent role however we do support more agile ways of working.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting clients in understanding the true operational value creation potential of acquisitions and investment companies
  • Working with colleagues from Financial Advisory, Consulting and the broader Deloitte network, the team provide our clients with a coherent overview of the business operations, performance gaps and the potential for rapid improvement
  • Working as a part of diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution

Requirements

  • Experience of being a consultant or individual within a business who has played a supporting role in realising performance improvement or delivering an operational turnaround at an accelerated pace;
  • Proven experience as a team member during the implementation of performance improvement projects or turnarounds;
  • Experience working for or with private equity portfolio companies is strongly preferred;
  • Functional capability in supply chain or finance with lean six sigma experience desirable;
  • Cash and working capital liquidity management experience;
  • Project Management experience;
  • Developed your skills in a top management consultancy or a corporate environment - preferably both;
  • Excellent academics with a strong first degree or equivalent qualification as a minimum;
  • Demonstration of previous analytical roles;
  • Experience of working with management teams;
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral;
  • Flexibility for international travel.
