We are recruiting again for one of the UK's fastest growing start-ups. My client creates shared workspaces for ambitious entrepreneurs, start-ups, scale-ups and innovation teams. This is a growth hire due to continued expansion with the company looking to bring on board a part-qualified Management Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) to support the Financial Controller, the executive management team and various financial service providers.Candidates must possess a min. of 2 years' Management Accounting experience with excellent communication skills, a genuine desire to make a difference and a team-first ethos. Study support towards an accounting qualification will be provided.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Overseeing the general ledger and liaising with the finance team to make amendments
  • Building good rapport with General Managers and Department Leads to assist on finance-related queries
  • Reviewing actual spend vs budget and providing commentary on variances
  • Assisting in preparation of year end accounts and liaising with outsourced accountants on the progress
  • Improving current internal controls and having opportunity to implement the new procedures as the Group grows
  • Preparation of draft supplier payment run
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Fixed assets reconciliation
  • Management fee recharges and inter-company reconciliation
  • Carry out any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the Financial Controller or COO/ CEO
  • Develop friendly, positive and supportive relationships with external and internal customers, and to provide them with an excellent service

Key Requirements:

  • ACCA / CIMA part qualified
  • Proven experience in the similar role
  • Technology savvy with excellent computer skills
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively plan, organise and manage multiple priorities
  • Familiar with Xero, AccountsIQ and project management software would be beneficial but is not essential
