A fast-growing marketing agency is looking to hire a Management Accountant. The management accountant will report to the Director of Finance providing management accounting and analysis to support the business as it continues to scale.

The Management Accountant position offers a clear pathway to progress quickly to Senior Management Accountant. You will be a core member of the accounts team, preparing month-end management accounts along with providing financial support to the broader business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ownership and production of the monthly management accounts
  • Review of costs and margins including comparison against budgets/forecasts
  • Ownership of all month end journals including accruals and prepayments
  • Sole responsibility for all detailed variances to budget/forecast with appropriate communication and scheduled monthly meetings with the Head of FP&A
  • Review payroll and post payroll journals
  • Approve bank payments
  • Ensure maintenance of the Publishing, Video Marketing and Branded Content new business pipelines and activity phasing in conjunction with the business and the Head of FP&A
  • Assistance with audit deliverables
  • Review the sales reps commission calculated by the assistant management accountant before
  • distribution to the business
  • Provide business partnering analysis and financial support to the divisional heads, MD and CFO.
  • Ability to prepare analysis for meetings with key stakeholders in the business on cost driving efficiencies and business cases.
  • Develop strong working relationships with the business in order to challenge deviations in actual and forecast revenue, margins and costs.
  • Preparation of detailed budgets and quarterly detailed forecasting in conjunction with the Head of FP&A.
  • Ability to present numbers to the Head of FP&A and explain impact of assumptions.
  • Capable of preparing suitable forecasting scenarios with the ability to present to Head of FP&A and/or CFO.
  • Working alongside the Head of FP&A to drive efficiencies in processes and workflows across the finance function
  • Identification of improvements to processes and working papers
  • Ad hoc analysis of revenue/costs in order to understand the business in more detail and make improvements, such as helping to set sales targets for incentives.

The ideal candidate would be a CIMA or ACCA finalist, or a recently qualified accountant with agency experience.
