We are seeking a Junior Analyst with at least 2 years’ work experience analysing equities to join our highly rated healthcare equity research team. This role will involve drafting research commentaries, detailed reports and in-depth modelling of company financials of healthcare stocks under Liberum’s coverage.

This is an excellent opportunity for a bright, enthusiastic and driven individual to progress to writing their own research with guidance and mentoring from senior analysts. A relevant professional qualification (e.g. ACA or CFA preferred) is highly desirable and you must demonstrate a passion to be an analyst. Experience, be it professional or through education, in the healthcare space welcome.

Reporting to: Senior Analysts

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support senior analysts, assisting with preparation of Equity Research notes
  • Financial modelling and data collection
  • Contributing to responses to client requests
  • Meeting with management teams of companies under coverage
  • Interacting with the Equity Sales desk on key ideas and sector themes

Key Relationships:

  • Internal: across Sales, Trading, Research and Investment Banking
  • External: Investors and management teams

Employment Terms

  • Full-time, permanent contract (following 3 month probation)
  • 45 hours per week (7am – 5pm)

Skills, Attributes and Credentials

Essential

  • Developed knowledge of company valuations and financial modelling
  • Prior experience as an Equity Research Analyst, on the sell-side or buy-side or minimum 3 years experience in a comparable role
  • Comfortable engaging with key stakeholders – ie institutional investors,
  • company management teams, “internal” clients (ie Equity Sales)
  • Experience, be it professional or through education, in the healthcare space welcome
  • Working in a systematic and methodical way
  • Evidence of clear analytical thinking
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong ability to manage priorities and own time
  • High degree of integrity
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Advanced IT skills, including all Office applications (advanced Excel)
