My client, a Tier 1 Investment Bank, is looking to recruit a dynamic individual to join the Front Office Sales Desk as a Sales Assistant for the Rates Trading business.


My client, a Tier 1 Investment Bank, is looking to recruit a dynamic individual to join the Front Office Sales Desk as a Sales Assistant for the Rates Trading business.

The team are a dedicated function sat within the Front Office to ensure the timely and accurate capture of contractual obligations on the firm's systems across all Markets activity. This involves the entering and accepting the economic terms of any trades into Trade Capture Systems, inclusive of subsequent Risk Modifying Activities on that trade, and encompasses a broad range of Trade Capture activity types and systems. This is to meet both our regulatory and internal control requirements.

Overall purpose of role:

* The successful candidate will be part of the Trade Capture team which manages specific trade.
* capture and closely related functions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
* The team helps maintain a high degree of accuracy around trade capture, which is crucial to the firm's risk management, accurate books and records.
* Exception processing and Client interaction form a major part of the role and the successful candidate should expect high exposure to multiple departments both internally and externally.
* To liaise with internal/external teams as appropriate to resolve outstanding queries and issues.

Key Accountabilities:

* Primary Support to Trading & Sales (role based on trading floor)
* Trade capture of Vanilla Interest rate derivatives including Swaps, Swaptions and inflation based products.
* Client interaction in regard to trade capture issues, account opening and general queries.
* Amendments in Risk Systems.
* Working closely with IB Middle Office, Product Control, Operations and post trade services teams to resolve all queries.
* Development and maintenance of relationships across sales and clients.
* Maintain a control environment and ensure appropriate escalation of issues.

Candidate Profile:

* Bachelor's Degree (preferably in finance or mathematical based, however not essential)
* Ideal opportunity for a recent graduate looking for an opportunity within the company.
* Theoretical understanding of interest rate markets and products.
* Knowledge of current regulatory landscape for interest rate derivatives.
* Detailed and meticulous; high level of accuracy with low tolerance for error.
* Strong interpersonal and communication capabilities.
* Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively.
* Proactive approach to problem solving and process improvement.
* Conscious of the risk environment and potential impacts.
* Highly numerate with analytical problem-solving ability.
* Self-starter/motivator with the ability to organise and work independently as well as part of a team.
* Shows initiative by challenging processes and proposing solutions.
* Coding literate, Knowledge of Macros, VBA, SQL or other coding languages will be seen as an advantage.
