Junior Python Developer- Hedge Fund

Salary: £75k base + £25k bonus

Role

You will join the middle-office development team, working with a third-party platform that manages the firm's trading risk. You'll be tasked with building and expanding data access to and from the platform, refactoring the REST-based service layer to support new trading strategies. You will design and develop tools to automate workflows - e.g. system maintenance, end-of-day processing - and extend the functionality of existing applications.

Skills and Experience Required

• 0.5-2 years' experience, with strong Python skills
• Good understanding SOAs, RESTful APIs and microservices
• Exposure to another OO language (e.g. Java, C++, C#)
• Unix/Linux knowledge
• Strong fundamental understanding of relational databases

Desirable

Experience with any of the following:

• Vendor front office / risk / trading applications, e.g. Murex, Calypso, Imagine
• Cloud architecture, especially AWS
• Docker, Sybase, PERL/shell scripts
• Finance experience is beneficial, but by no means a requirement
