Morgan Stanley’s Secured Financing Technology team is looking for Java Developer to develop critical applications.
The Secured Financing Technology team provides solutions to the Bank Resource Management business within Morgan Stanley to enable the Firm to finance itself efficiently. Functions within this area include Repo trading, Collateral Posting and Optimization, Margin and Exposure management and Posting of Funding Carry costs. These are critical Firm-wide processes responsible for hundreds of billions of dollars of funding and collateral; there are major investments in this area driven by regulatory change which requires investment banks to become more efficient in these activities in order to achieve good profit margins.
This role is within the carry costs area of the department. The business is looking to centralize the calculation of funding costs for all derivatives globally in the firm. The technology team of 6 are based out of London. This project is a long term project only in its early phases of development and offers the opportunity to learn about funding and financing costs of derivatives and work with the latest technology stack including Java 8, cloud and micro service architecture with a strong focus on unit, integration and BDD testing. This team is seen as one of the leaders of agile development practice within the firm.
- Strong knowledge of Java 8, primarily within server-side development
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux
- Spring Boot
- Autosys R11
- Good understanding of multi-threaded Java programming
- Experience using design patterns
- Experience using relational databases (SQL)
- DB2 experience (Not essential)
- Strong communication skills with proven ability to deliver high-quality software working in multi-person teams
- Agile development practice
- Behaviour Driven development experience
- Unit testing (Junit)
- Angular/HTML5 ( Not essential )
