Finance Technology

Finance Technology provides innovative solutions for regulatory and financial reporting, general ledger, profit & loss calculations, securities bookkeeping, budgeting & forecasting, and tax filing. The group leverages a state-of-the-art multi-terabyte financial data warehouse as one of its main assets to service the Firm’s Finance division.

Role Profile:

Finance Technology is looking for an experienced Java Developer. The candidate should be an experienced Senior Developer with a strong Software Engineering background and hands on development experience across the full technology stack. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a strong track record of building robust, scalable and adaptable Finance systems.

The successful candidate will be working on a large scale multi-year renovation program with the aim to renovate the P&L, Balance Sheet and Sub ledger system for the Institutional Securities division of the firm. You will be part of a large global team working with Business Analysts, Project Managers, senior stakeholders and IT professionals across the firms technology divisions. Although the firm has a distinct front-line Production Management team, the role will also involve co-ordination of level 3 production support and triage management of production incidents.

Experience of working in the Finance Industry is a pre-requisite. Experience of P&L, Balance Sheet, Ledger/Subledger and cross asset classes will be advantageous but not a pre-requisite.


Required Skills:

  • Strong software engineering background
  • Experience of building robust, scalable and adaptable systems.
  • Relational Databases (teradata/db2/Sybase)
  • Strong JAVA and Relational Database skills is a pre-requisite
  • Modern Agile SDLC techniques (Scrum, Lean, automated testing, Continuous Integration)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Matrix management across various IT and business stakeholders.
  • Planning, status reporting and issue tracking.
  • Deployment management
  • Finance knowledge
