About Real Estate Investment Directing
The Real Estate Investment Directing team aims to commercialise Fidelity's real estate investment capabilities. The team is responsible for representing the real estate group to prospective and existing clients, reporting on portfolios, promoting thought leadership on real estate topics, creating new solutions to meet investor demands, and generating marketing material to support sales activity. The team encompasses a strong knowledge of real estate markets and Fidelity's portfolio strategies, combined with a capacity to communicate these through different formats.
Purpose of your role
The Investment Specialist is responsible for various tasks, including:
Fund and market analysis: leading to the production of pitch books, marketing collateral and input for the RFP/RFI team. The role requires deep knowledge of the market, portfolio strategy and investment process for disciplines under their coverage. As part of this, the individual must have a good understanding of competitor offerings to identify commercial angles for products under coverage, ensuring these competitor edges are clearly defined and articulated.
Client reporting: the provision of data and production of regular and ad hoc written reports on the market environment, fund performance and strategy. The role will assist in on-going projects to help automate and improve client reporting and will assist in the timeliness and quality assurance of the output.
Communication with business channels: developing relationships with key channels, informing and educating them on real estate, developing new sales materials appropriate to their specific needs, disseminating necessary information to these channels via the real estate SharePoint site and the proper management of that site. The individual should have a proven ability to influence and impact sales and marketing campaigns.
Query resolution: specifically ensuring that ad hoc fund and strategy queries from clients/sales force are answered quickly and accurately, to be done in concert with other members of the team
Experience and Qualifications Required
- Experience in real estate investment management or related businesses
- Confident and able to work with limited instruction or guidance
- Robust understanding of the drivers and benefits of a wide range of real estate strategies
- Good interpersonal skills, and an effective communicator who can work with senior management
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent capability with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Strong writing skills (fluent English is a core requirement)
- Good attention to detail
- A team player
