Leading DB & DC Master Trust are now seeking to recruit an additional Investment & Risk Analyst to work within their small but growing inhouse investment team.

TPT Retirement Solutions has 75 years’ experience and is one of the UK’s leading providers of workplace pensions, recognised for its innovation and high quality service. We provide schemes for some of the UK’s leading organisations, including building societies, housing associations and well-known charities. As we have no shareholders, our priority is to achieve our mission – of making membership worthwhile - for over 2,600 employers and 389,000 members.

As an employer, we believe in finding and investing in the right people so that they can grow with us. Our focus is on helping them to succeed by providing them with the right tools, support and career development opportunities – demonstrated by our long-standing Investors in People Gold accreditation. In turn, our business grows and we can achieve our ambitious goals.

We are now seeking to recruit a further Investment Analyst to join the team.

You will provide strategic investment analysis to support TPT’s investment objectives. Working in a small team, you will likely be involved with all aspects of the investment function.

Areas of Responsibility

1. To develop and take ownership of TPT’s vision, Business Plan and values, and to be totally committed to these.

2. To provide support to the Investment Team’s internal and external customers.

3. To be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining risk analysis for TPT’s assets including risk relative to liabilities. This includes proposals for development of the portfolio and the application to specific schemes and the use of relevant systems, as well as ongoing monitoring of total scheme specific investment risk against scheme risk budgets.

4. To assist in the Investment Team’s asset/manager research activities.

5. To support the ongoing development of our reporting, including on climaterelated risks, with the aim of improving quality, consistency, timeliness and service for recipients.

6. To be a point of contact for TPT’s investment suppliers, including fund managers, custodian and consultants.

7. To assist the Chief Investment Officer in managing governance and compliance systems.

8. To contribute ideas and challenge the existing practices and approaches.

9. To assist with the training of TPT’s employees and other stakeholders on investment matters.

10. To develop and enhance the systems (internal and external) used by the investment team, including for forward-looking risk analysis, and be responsible for their maintenance, production of regular reports and monitoring.

The successful individual should ideally have the following experience and personal attributes:

  • Experience with an in-house occupational pension scheme’s investment team, consulting, asset management or other relevant background.
  • Extensive knowledge of asset classes, managers and legal structures.
  • Investment qualification or other educational equivalent.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to research and monitor manager mandates and strategies
  • Strong written, oral, presentation skills and good personal organisation.
  • Knowledge of UK DB pension liabilities
  • Desirable but not essential to have experience of Financial Risk Management
