Job Purpose:

Ensure that the process of creating, maintaining, and retiring financial products is managed in a way that ensures the customer receives a product that is appropriate for their immediate and future financial goals.

Lead the implementation of new regulatory and compliance requirements impacting product governance or delivery.

The successful candidate will work with the Head of Investment Products and respective control functions to ensure that products are offered compliantly and meet all of the applicable internal Citi and external governance requirements.

IPB EMEA and UK Consumer bank has been integrated to form one business to leverage synergies and drive efficiencies.

IPB caters to the off shore wealth management needs of onshore clients in various EMEA markets and offers products and services across banking. Our key markets in EMEA are Russia, Greece, UAE and Bahrain.

UK Consumer bank serves UK residents clients with multi currency banking, wealth management, protection, Offshore Bonds and Retirement related products and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that the process of creating, maintaining, and retiring financial products is managed in a way that ensures the customer receives a product that is appropriate for their immediate and future financial goals.
  • Support Product Managers in ensuring WM products are compliant with Citi internal policies (including RDIP), governance  and external regulatory policies - RDR, MIFID including product registration requirements across jurisdictions and other policies from regulators - FCA, JFSC, FIMNA.
  • With the support of legal and compliance functions review and understand legislation, and initiate and drive necessary changes to the Wealth Management proposition.
  • Leveraging detailed knowledge of investment sales process and drive implementation changes to the process resulting in process simplification from both client and business perspective
  • Preparation and maintenance of MiFID II product related reports on Target Market, Top 5 Venues, Cost and Charges and others as may be required.
  • Coordinate and be responsible for data collation and preparation of UK regulatory reports and providing inputs for regulatory reports as those may be required by other regulators
  • Coordination with technology team to drive automation of the regulatory reporting where possible
  • Manage business as usual product lifecycle in line with the company's Product Governance policy
  • Support product managers with preparation of Product Approval Forms, Product Initiation Requests and other documents as required by the Product Governance procedure
  • Support product managers with assessment ensuring that the AML and CASS requirements are met.
  • Regular review of controls related to product governance, control testing and completion or ORI and MCA submissions.
  • Preparing reports and providing inputs for Investments Supervisory Committee and Business Risk and Compliance Committee for investment products
  • Review of the existing controls within WM team, maintained up to date process flows and related controls; suggest improvements to the existing controls
  • Ensure timely escalation of any issues detected via MCA process or ad-hoc.
  • Lead the implementation of new regulatory and compliance requirements impacting product governance or product delivery
  • Delivering training on the impact of regulatory changes
  • Be project lead  on business wide projects
  • Ensure all product promotion activities are compliant to TCF and Citi's suitability processes

Qualifications

Knowledge/Experience:
  • Excellent understanding of FCA regulation and how those impact wealth management business
  • Product / project Management experience in the financial services industry.
  • Current (extensive years) Financial Services experience is essential.
  • Fluent in English

  • Detail-oriented; control process, governance, documentation and tracking skills.
  • Project and Stakeholder Management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical skills

Qualifications:
  • Strong communication, numeracy and literacy skills, ideally with a successful university degree
  • Ideally holds relevant regulatory qualifications for Retail Investment Products
