The role as Associate Director is key in the development and delivery of internal audit and advisory consulting engagements and to extending Protiviti's relationships across the client portfolio.

We are seeking a motivated candidate with passion for data and technology to help drive the Enabling Technology team in London, covering data analytics, process mining, machine learning and Robotic Process Automation (RPA). The Associate Director will be developing and delivering innovative solutions and help transform internal audit methodologies and techniques. You will be part of a diverse, fast-paced and innovative culture. You will be able to work on a wide range of projects, covering technologies and solutions from process mining to robotic process automation.


  • Lead the delivery and management of client engagements
  • Take a leading role in business development activities and develop new and existing client relationships
  • Manage Protiviti and client staff in line with our risk management practices for the successful delivery of client engagements
  • Manages broad range of routine responsibilities on multiple client engagements related to client project management and business development activities
  • Effectively manages client relationships with senior personnel
  • Contributes to employee development by actively mentoring employees, creating development opportunities, and initiating and conducting training
  • Demonstrates the ability to discuss technical and industry trends in specific projects/ industries
  • Demonstrates the ability to deliver specific product solutions to clients
  • Demonstrates expertise in specific technical areas and/or industries
  • Assists Engagement Director/MD in managing engagement risk
  • Participates in recruiting efforts to support Protiviti business objectives
  • Enhances Protiviti’s market presence and exposure in order to develop client opportunities


  • Leading the Enabling Technology business development and go-to-market activities
  • Continue developing the enabling technology proposition in line with the overall next generation internal audit vision
  • Collaborate with internal technology and innovation teams and actively participate in internal initiatives including use-case development, go-to-market and marketing activities.
  • Manage engagements to design, build and execute a range of technology-enabled solutions
  • Oversee and manage technical staff, including quality review of scripting, data models and analyses for process mining and other technologies across a range of industries and business processes
  • Work with clients to translate their business and audit objectives into technical requirements and solutions.
  • Build a strong data enabling technologies team
  • Develop and maintain effective software partner relationships
  • Prepare timely project status reports on findings and make recommendations to client management.
  • Assist with the development of Protiviti thought leadership white papers and other marketing materials and activities, such as webinars and conference presentations


  • Strong data analysis, development, ETL or modelling experience
  • Experience in a range of data analytics tools
  • Experience in major Business Intelligence tools and data visualisation, designing and developing reports and dashboards, e.g. in Power BI, Tableau or similar
  • Experience with data ingestion processes and the ability to read and understand database schemas, including the relationships between objects and key terminology (experience with ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle)
  • Ability to translate business needs to technical requirements and solutions
  • Creative and solution-oriented mindset, leveraging a vast array of techniques and tools


  • Proficiency in a programming language such as SQL, Python, Angular, Java or other
  • Experience in process mining and robotic process automation (RPA) is a plus, e.g. Celonis, PAFNow, UIPath, BluePrism, Automation Anywhere, etc.


  • Prior management and direct supervisory experience in a team environment

  • Solid knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Act provisions and methodologies for achieving compliance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications


  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; minimum 2:1
  • 8+ years in a related field, preferably in professional services and/or industry
  • Professional certification such as ACA/ICAS/CIMA strongly preferred
  • Experience in a professional services Internal Audit team strongly preferred


  • In ordinary circumstances, this position might require out-of-town work travel to client locations
