My client is a Tier 1 investment bank who are looking to hire someone into their structuring team focused on the European insurance market.

Role description:

Structuring of insurance solutions trades including:

Determining the risk profile of the business to be assumed
Assessing key risks and developing proposed mitigants
"Termsheeting" proposed transaction to aid negotiation
Drafting of transaction documentation
Transaction Execution

Maintenance of the existing transaction portfolio
Development of new insurance solutions structures

Key aptitudes sought:

Independent thinker with keen attention to detail and willingness to question
Proven ability to learn and understand new concepts
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
Willingness to go the extra-mile when required
Ability to work well with diverse others (lawyers, consultants, actuaries, colleagues in origination, trading and other functions) in order to bring a transaction to execution

Skills / Experience / knowledge sought

Candidates will be judged "in the whole" based on a combination of aptitudes, skills and experience. The skills / experience listed below will each be considered a positive factor in such assessment, and whilst candidates are expected to possess several of them, lack of any specific item above should not prevent candidates from applying.

A good understanding of key insurance concepts including

Actuarial modelling
Solvency II capital
Insurance accounting

Experience with

Building actuarial models
Working on transactions and their documentation
Working in a capital management or risk management function
Providing advice on capital management or risk management issues

Knowledge of standard European product types (with knowledge outside of the U.K. product set an advantage)
Qualified Actuary with more than 2 years post qualification experience
