Role Purpose

You will be responsible for defining and leading M&G's Institutional marketing strategy. The role will manage the UK based Institutional Marketing team, including Real Estate, and will be accountable for ensuring that M&G's institutional marketing activity is consistent and accurate across all markets in collaboration with the relevant international channel marketing teams.

Role Summary
  • Develop and implement a measurable marketing strategy to institutional clients and prospects with specific focus on the UK and launching M&G in the US.
  • Approval and ownership of institutional marketing messaging globally in support of capital raising and origination.
  • Lead the UK-based Institutional marketing team supporting and encouraging their development and performance.
  • Work closely with the international marketing teams, providing clear direction and supporting the implementation of the Institutional marketing strategy.
  • Provide strategic partnership to M&G's institutional investment desks to implement marketing support as needed.
  • Maintain the strength of the M&G brand in the UK amongst institutional advisors and asset owners to support client engagement, business growth, retention and asset origination.
  • Ensure that all marketing activities comply with the regulatory, Conduct Risk (Customer at Heart) and Treating Customers Fairly requirements of FCA and the relevant regulatory requirements in the US.
  • Manage and build strong relationships with internal departments and external agencies on an ongoing basis.
  • Responsible for the UK and US and Central institutional marketing budget planning, allocation and day-to-day management.
  • Partner with marketing leadership in Asia and Europe to define appropriate budget allocations to institutional marketing activity for these markets.
  • Oversee and review all processes and procedures to ensure quality output of all materials, campaigns, programmes and quality brand representation across all elements of the marketing mix.
  • Lead on the measurement of institutional marketing activity.
  • Where appropriate, implement agile working methods within the team.

Qualifications

Educated to degree level with appropriate marketing qualifications either post-graduate or professional training IMC is advantageous.

Knowledge and Experience
  • Excellent English language skills, foreign language skills would be an advantage.
  • Strong Industry (Institutional Asset Management) and Marketing experience - regulatory and AIFMD knowledge and experience of the compliance nuances in Institutional channels.
  • Good understanding of differences across markets.
  • Strong understanding of investment products and the investment industry in general.
  • Experience of working with multiple departments to develop client/marketing literature and regulatory communications.
  • Proven experience of managing budget.
  • Proficient in the MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as relevant CRM and marketing automation systems.
