Experience and Skills
Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • CCNA level or equivalent knowledge. Must be able to work and configure Switch stacks, VLANs, static and dynamic routing, setup VPNs (site and user), ACLs, multicast traffic
  • AD site management, DNS (forward and reverse lookup zones), DHCP, GPOs. Familiar with FSMO roles, domain controller setup/configuration.
  • Install, maintain domain controllers, new sites, troubleshoot replication issues, and manage DNS, DHCP experience managing firewalls (Cisco ASA and Watchguard)
  • VMware ESXi and Vcenter administration. Experience with HA clusters, vSwitches, VM backups and restores (Veeam), shared storage.
  • Storage systems administration experience (Netapp ONTAP and/or EMC) and must be able to configure and work with aggregates, volumes, LUNs, FibreChannel, Iscsi, VMware data stores  (VMFS)

Important:

  • Linux Centos / RedHat system administration experience. Ability to work with SSH, Apache, Tomcat, NFS Windows (Server 2012 R2) multi-site domain system administration experience
  • Database Administration of SQL server 2014/2016 including Availability Groups(routing, replication, monitoring, restores)
  • Experience with VOIP telephony systems (Cisco Call Manager, Avaya or similar). Familiar with SIP trunks, dial plans, configuring new extensions, phones
  • Exposure to multi-site Infrastructure/Domain and Data Centre operations and hardware – Access, Cross connects, HP Blade enclosure + Blades, Brocade Fibre Channel SAN
  • Understanding of financial markets, systems and instruments
  • Messaging/reactive system experience, Linux and Windows knowledge

Useful:

  • 3rd Party Monitoring experience (e.g. Solarwinds NPM, Nagios XL, Redgate SQL monitoring, PRTG)
  • Amazon Web Services (EC2, VPC, AWS Direct Connect, S3
  • Experience of Licence management in particular Microsoft Open Volume licensing and MPSA
  • Experience of 3rd Party vendor management and contract negotiations
