We Offer
This role offers you the opportunity to work in the Enterprise Valuation Group ("EVG") at Credit Suisse, part of the Corporate Bank. EVG is responsible for providing independent valuation analyses and rating assessments in support of Credit Suisse's leveraged finance origination business. EVG also has ongoing monitoring responsibilities for a small subset of the originated transactions. The group has offices in London and New York.

Enterprise value assessment and rating assignment process:
  • Perform thorough independent enterprise valuation analysis to support CS' origination business
  • Propose letter (PD) and regulatory ratings for the proposed counterparty in the transaction
  • Author a valuation and rating justification memorandum to guide CRM's decision making concerning the extension of credit in the proposed transaction
  • Represent EVG's analysis and work product in deal meetings with Investment Banking Coverage and CRM
  • Liase with Corporate Lending to handle the seamless handoff of the transaction and its documentation to PMG
Credit monitoring and surveillance on subset of HY companies:
  • Understand operational and financial drivers and maintain updated financial models, credit ratings, regulatory ratings and rating outlooks for each counterparty
  • Analyze quarterly earnings and participate in conference calls, bank meetings and other events to insure depth of perspective
  • Maintain dialogue with companies, sell-side analysts, buy-side analysts and rating agencies
  • Maintain detailed going concern and liquidation recovery analyses
  • Perform company analyses as necessary in support of the Firm's underwriting activities


You Offer

  • You should have experience performing discounted cash flow, transaction comp, trading comp and other forms of enterprise value analysis in support of origination transactions, ideally within an investment banking or research role
  • Excellent credit skills and genuine interest to develop its credit expertise through fundamental research
  • You should have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid financial modeling skills, including proficiency in Excel
  • Deep understanding of accounting and corporate financial reporting
  • Effective organizational and multi-tasking skills; ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Experience or at least familiarity with assigning regulatory ratings would be a plus
  • Ability to speak Korean language preferred

This role will require ongoing certification under the Certification Regime.
