Tradition is the interdealer broking arm of Compagnie Financière Tradition and one of the world's largest interdealer brokers in over-the-counter financial and commodity related products. CFT is represented in over 28 countries, employing over 2,500 people.
The Head of Tax reports to the CFO and leads the tax team (one direct report). This is a broad role stretching across all areas of tax including corporation tax, VAT, transfer pricing and transaction taxes.
Key responsibilities:
- Reviewing all UK tax returns prior to submission to HMRC
- Managing the relationship between Tradition and HMRC including regular meetings and calls with the CCM
- Reviewing transfer pricing policies and documentation
- Advising on the tax implications of business changes e.g. new business lines, establishment of overseas entities, restructurings and new initiatives
- Advising on the impact of new taxes or changes in tax legislation or practice
- Managing tax risk including maintenance of documentation and controls
- Presenting to the Board/Audit Committee/London Executive on the UK tax strategy and key tax issues
- Providing tax support to international businesses
- Liaising with HR and Payroll on employment tax issues
- Liaison with external auditors and tax advisers
Key skills and experience required in this role
- Accountancy/tax qualification
- Previous experience ina similar tax role
- Hands on in-house tax experience (not necessarily in financial services)
- Broad tax experience across different taxes
- Awareness of international tax issues including transfer pricing
- Statutory accounts/audit experience
- Strong Microsoft Office skills especially Excel
