William Blake are currently working on behalf of a leading asset manager, recruiting into their marketing function. We are searching for a senior product marketing lead to head up a new team and function in London, managing all aspects of the planning, development and implementation of the Pan European thematic and product marketing programmes. Our client is looking for an experienced hire with a strong background in product marketing at an institutional asset manager.

The role will include formulating strategy, positioning, identifying themes and opportunities, content development, and measurement with the goal of improving and enhancing the company’s ability to win and retain assets across the region. This role will manage a team of three currently, with a view to grow.

Main responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development and execution of integrated insight driven thematic and product lead marketing programs, leveraged on a Pan European basis aligned to primarily institutional and intermediary audiences
  • Lead and manage team (currently three direct reports). Formulate current and any future state structure for the team and agree roles and responsibilities
  • Build position and reputation of the team with the global business, working closely with all teams across distribution and the wider business
  • Measure the success of Pan European initiatives and plans and adjusts strategies accordingly
  • Serve as content subject matter expert with strong emphasis towards institutional and fund selector audiences.


  • Experience within a senior leadership role in marketing at an asset manager
  • Good experience of product marketing, product positioning and messaging
  • Very good knowledge of the investment landscape across EMEA
  • Very good knowledge of institutional investor landscape
  • Strong background in developing thematic campaigns and thought leadership for large investors across Europe
  • Broad, deep product knowledge across investments
  • Team management experience
