Head of Marketing, Continental Europe

Role Purpose

Responsible for defining and leading M&G's marketing strategy in Continental Europe as the business enters its next phase of growth and leading M&G's marketing teams based in London and in Europe. The role spans all asset classes including fixed income, equities, real estate and multi asset and client types. This position has a leading role in supporting acquisition and retention of Europe's AUM in M&G's suite of funds and investment strategies.

Role Summary

  • Develop measurable, strategic marketing objectives aligned with business goals across the region
  • Identify the key marketing initiatives that will support the achievement of these objectives.
  • Lead and develop the regional marketing teams in Europe ensuring there is appropriate resource to support M&G's business across acquisition and retention, capital raising and origination
  • Develop and own the end to end client journey across client types and jurisdictions, embedding a client-first mindset within the European marketing teams
  • Work closely with the central teams based in London to ensure sufficient and appropriate marketing support is provided to each market
  • Partner with marketing leadership to ensure activity is leveraged across regions and that consistency, accuracy and alignment is achieved across all of M&G's marketing output globally
  • Engage with senior management and other relevant teams across M&G to provide direction on the business requirements (product, compliance, licensing and infrastructure) for the delivery of successful marketing activity for the region
  • Establish M&G's digital presence in Continental Europe, leveraging technology change and innovation driven centrally in London and selecting tools and partners locally to tailor digital activity for European audiences
  • Provide strategic marketing counsel to European business to inform future growth plans
  • Drive M&G's brand forward in the region, supporting client acquisition and retention and engagement
  • Lead on the measurement of marketing activity across the region
  • Where appropriate, implement agile working methods within the team

Qualifications

Educated to degree level with appropriate marketing qualifications either post-graduate or professional training.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Another European language is an advantage
  • Strong Industry (Asset Management) and Marketing experience - regulatory knowledge and experience of the compliance nuances in key European markets
  • Good understanding of differences across European markets
  • Experience of marketing to different audience types, notably wholesale and institutional and the differing approaches required to reach those audiences. Experience of marketing to support origination also advantageous
  • Strong understanding of markets, investment products and the investment industry in general
  • Experience of working with multiple departments to develop customer/marketing literature and regulatory communications
  • Proven experience of managing budgets.
  • Proficient in the MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
