An experienced HR generalist who thrives in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment. You will lead the HR function and be responsible for all aspects of day-to-day HR encompassing the full employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, employee relations, people development, performance management, payroll, appraisals, reward and remuneration, consultations, restructurings, occupational health and training.

You will also be responsible for the graduate programme (who will report into you) and ad hoc projects that impact HR such as the Senior Managers and Certification Regime. You will be comfortable working individually and as part of a small team, with one direct HR report.

This is a hands-on role, which is perfect for an enthusiastic, engaging and resilient individual, who enjoys variety in their working day and is not afraid to get involved in the day-to-day. Outside of the day-to-day operational requirement of this role, you will shape your role and the HR priorities in line with the business and other requirements.

Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
 Leading the HR function and maintaining and developing the HR strategy to align with the business strategy
 Dealing with the day-to-day operational aspects of HR including employment queries, reporting, HR
administration and processes etc.
 Running the recruitment process for the business including hiring campaigns (internal and external) and
screening/interviewing and onboarding of candidates
 Drafting and negotiating employment documentation incl. contracts, exit documents, policies etc.
 Ensuring compliance with the HR function's legal and regulatory requirements (including SMCR)
 Effectively managing employment relations cases to mitigate risk: disciplinary, grievances, sickness and
absence, redundancies, TUPEs, settlement agreements etc.
 Reporting and analytics for senior management
 Conducting employee benefit reviews
 Running the graduate programme
 Developing business relationships with all employees and key stakeholders
 Managing year end compensation process including performance reviews and feedback
 Providing hands-on leadership and guidance to the HR team and senior management to enable the delivery
of a responsive, high-quality HR service across the business

 Assisting from an HR perspective on the expansion of the business in Hong Kong and New York
Other ad hoc activities and projects that are reasonably within the scope of HR including SMCR, GDPR and IR35.

Technical skills

 Educated to degree level
 CIPD qualified or equivalent experience
 Strong understanding of employment law
 Depth of experience in handling employee relations
 Experience in the development and implementation of employment policies and procedures
 Strong working knowledge of, and experience in implementing, SMCR and GDPR
 Understanding of complex structures within financial services firms
