Our client is an early stage investment fund focused on start-ups. They are looking to hire a Head of Finance who would have responsibility for their fund, all tax matters and the financial control of the business.

The role is broad and the successful candidate would have responsibility for the following:


Fund Management

● Managing and monitoring all payments, including invoices, team expenses, employer taxes and other related payments

● Modelling a budget for the fund

● Analysing and reporting cash flow and developing a forecast cash flow model

● Drive continuous improvement in reporting tools; systems and process, and portfolio company team performance

● Provide additional governance and support to the team to ensure there is adequate finance management of commitments, obligations, cash-flows and budgets

● Issuing capital calls to investors

● Liaising and managing relations with investors, including negotiating on any future LPAs



● Carrying out high level tax reviews of start-ups that they are considering investing in, assessing any tax implications for the fund

● Analysing financial statements of start-ups where the fund might invest

● Provide and challenge support on business models and business propositions

● Providing support to portfolio companies’ CFOs and finance professionals where appropriate


Tax and Reporting

● Compiling accounts and financial statements for all the fund’s entities for regular filing, including all financial reporting required for quarterly reports

● Ensuring full balance sheet reconciliations and controls are in place

● Managing all FCA-related reporting and communications

● Review of financial reporting and all related deliverable and development of improved financial analysis and documentation
