Our client is a London based Private Equity business. Very well known within the industry. A very experienced Finance professional is required to manage the Fund Accounting/Control team. This person will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA,ACCA,CIMA) with relevant Private Equity Fund Accounting skills along with experience managing a team. A very broad role with high visibility and genuine progression opportunities.

The Role:

  • Manage the three team heads and their respective teams that make up this function which includes fund accounting and valuations
  • Create and oversee a robust control environment across the three teams and with outsourced fund administrators around the production and sign off of the financial reporting for the funds and special purpose vehicles to ensure that the financial reports are accurate
  • Ensure efficient and accurate onboarding of new investments and products, making recommendations around structuring where appropriate
  • Provide input on product development and ad-hoc projects
  • Oversee the audit relationship and timetables for the numerous vehicles to ensure timely sign off all audits.
  • Oversee the continual development of the valuation policy and processes for the Funds' investments to ensure they meet audit and accounting standards but remain efficient and effective
  • Oversee the production of analytical data to support the investment valuations produced for the various Valuation Committees
  • Act as a Valuation Committee member, providing insightful advice and challenge to valuations where appropriate.
  • Review and present management information
  • Monitor ongoing service and contractual arrangements with third party suppliers including reviews of KPIs, SLAs
  • Create, implement, review regularly and update, and manage on an ongoing basis a key risk framework
  • Communicate the teams' functions and controls to the wider business and to investors
  • Plan and communicate future growth and volume impact for team including ensuring that recruitment to address growth is requested in a timely manner
  • Manage teams within agreed budget
  • Drive change, efficiency and process improvement across the team
  • Contribute to Target Operating Model and strategic direction of Operations providing challenge to status quo

Requirements:

  • You will have broad, detailed knowledge of complex, Private Equity fund structures
  • You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA,ACCA,CIMA)
  • You will have requisite experience managing a fund accounting or valuations team
  • Have experience in improving/developing processes and systems
  • Be robust and have excellent all round communication skills
