In the context of the evolution of the regulation in Europe, the person will be responsible to design, implement and run the AXA Framlington Business Control & Governance oversight framework (i.e. the controls associated with the different steps of the investment process), implement new regulations (eg MIFID II) and support AXA Framlington fund managers adherence to AXA IM Risk & Control framework

Trading related activities:
-Ensure that the procedures formalized in the AXA Framlington F/O Procedures are properly respected by fund managers
-Maintain & enhance a monitoring program to control the respect of these procedures (controls will be performed by the Analyst, Business Control and Governance reporting to the Head of Business Control & Governance)
Pre/Post trade controls:
-Monitor the investment guidelines breaches identified on a pre & post trade basis by the AXA IM Investment Guidelines team and engage with fund managers on potential actions required
-Lead Framlington Control Committee and participate in local control committees (when required)
Investment Research related activities :
In the context of MIFID II implementation, design and implement a new operating process to:
-Support fund managers in the definition of required research services
-Contribute to the negotiation of research services with research providers and oversee relationship with research service providers
-Design and operate a new process, with associated software, for the monitoring of research services consumed and the billing of those services by brokers.
-Lead the broker voting process
-Ensure that the Framlington governance framework is effective and properly performed
The scope of the role is likely to evolve as the regulation framework will evolve.
-Degree-level or higher
-Experience of designing, implementing and running monitoring programs in a similar role would be desirable
-Experience in managing a small team would be desirable
Knowledge and Skills:
-Good investment knowledge (Equity asset class)
-Good understanding of regulatory environment/landscape/framework(s)
-Strong communication skills and capacity to interact with fund managers (daily interaction)
-Very strong rigor and analytical skills
-Capacity to benefit from working with other teams in a multi-cultural environment
-Ability to optimize collaboration with colleagues in transversal team
-Must be highly flexible, organised and independent
