Create a reputation as a go-to source of knowledge & analysis within the industry and actively engage our clients, demonstrating knowledge and thought leadership, specifically to enhance the SCB brand in areas of our core offering.

The focus of the role will be on post trade capability, however clear alignment with the agenda of trading and broader Standard Chartered Group is necessary.

Product focus will be on products in the portfolio of Financial Markets, including FX, Commodities, Securities, OTC and cleared Derivatives. The role will leverage the securities coverage of Securities Services Market Advocacy and other similar capabilities across the bank.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor industry developments across our key markets. This applies to developments in industry, utilities and key FinTech initiatives. Undertake competitor analysis.

Monitor regulatory developments, partnering with regulatory specialists within SCB. This predominantly applies to developments in the regulatory environment & identify developments of key importance to the FM business. Focus will be on local country regulatory changes as well as supra-national regulations.

Together with global, regional and country product heads (as appropriate), analyse likely impact of changes on SCB and its clients (threats and opportunities) and communicate accordingly to business and clients.

In agreement with senior management, establish a "house" position for SCB on major regulatory or market changes and establish contact with relevant regulatory bodies or industry groups to promote the SCB viewpoint, especially where regulations are in draft form and input is invited. Work with clients and, where there is common interest, industry bodies and competitors to take a leading role to establish positions on the regulatory and market driven agenda.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Extensive market experience in FX Cash products, OTC and cleared derivatives products across FXRC. Ideally displays knowledge of Securities products.
Broad industry network, involved in industry initiatives and with a market profile for post-trade development.
