ROLE DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE Within the Marketing department, our client is recruiting a Head of Editorial Content. This is a player/manager role, leading a team responsible for generating story telling targeted content for the BtBtC segment. The successful candidate will need to have impressive investment content and retail background, excellent writing, editing and stakeholder management skills, the ability to listen and adapt to local markets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Content Strategy, Planning & Production

  • Lead, manage and create content targeted Story telling content in close collaboration with other Marketing, Communication and in relation with Sales teams, according to the customer segments and business priorities defined in each country
  • Create a range of content including communication materials (insights), digital content, articles, white papers, advertorials and other ad hoc pieces in support of the sales, marketing and communications projects and strategy
  • Proactively support team key projects (i.e. SRI, thematics), both from a content perspective and more broadly to ensure the team delivers highly successful projects. Feed into the planning and execution of collateral for new product launches, campaigns, working closely with the team, product development and investment teams on materials
  • Produce compelling digital content/scripts including website copy, blogs, videos, podcasts, social media and work with different members of the team on delivery of the content through different channels
  • Ensure that the content is adapted to their mode of distribution, especially for digital (SEO, web, mobile, newsletters, platforms, social networks etc.) & manage and ensure diffusion is adapted to channel and audience
  • Plan and Coordinate all content production throughout the value chain and the customer journey
  • Rationalize the creation and flow of product related content to help consumer develop a clearer sense of the brand and articulate the attributes of specific products
  • Adapt content to local investor’s needs & gather investors insight from various sources to enable targeted content effectively
  • Brief external providers (e.g. agencies) involved in Content production
  • Manage content budgets and ensure spending is controlled and well allocated

Team Work

  • Work with all Marketing & Communication teams to plan production of content according to different audience needs and dissemination schedules (campaigns, website animation, newsletters, animation of partner platforms, etc.) and optimize the use of marketing resources
  • Work closely with the Distribution team to ensure good understanding of their local needs & Contribute to the realisation of sales target through actions in line with the business strategy. Bring timely insights in support of the key sales initiatives
  • Work with internal Product Specialists/Investment teams to leverage, repurpose and produce externally appropriate investment content
  • Work with Legal and Compliance to ensure all regulatory requirements are met and the correct sign-off procedures are adhered to.
  • Partner with external investment writers to translate sophisticated investment concepts into concise, compelling copy focused on solving the challenges of the company’s intermediaries
  • Partner with brand & digital agencies to produce and deliver timely content

Monitoring, optimisation and reporting

  • Monitor content performance, and identify & implement areas of improvement in order to enhance customer journey & KPIs
  • Optimise client engagement and journey
  • Continuous improvement and monitoring of client touch points, aiming to increase engagement

KEY INTERNAL / EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Internal: Marketing, Communication, Sales, Country Heads, Legal & Compliance
  • External: External providers, investment writers, translators, and clients/investors

1.    Role Requirements

Essential qualifications & experience

  • Higher Education Marketing (University, Business School)
  • 10+ years of experience in a B2B2C universe, in a similar position in the financial sector in an international environment
  • Previous experience as a financial journalist/investment writer writing about the investments industry
  • Inhouse investment communications experience in asset management ideally with experience targeting retail (FLA, BtBB, end investor) clients across asset classes.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of the target client audience - how they digest content and what they are looking from investment managers.
  • Strong experience of writing for different channels, including web writing, video & podcast scripts and other types of interactive content is essential
  • Knowledge of European compliance restrictions
  • Proven experience of creating and delivering compelling narrative-based content
  • Ability to simplify complex subjects

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES (TECHNICAL / BEHAVIOURAL / LEADERSHIP)

  • Excellent knowledge and writing in English (French a plus). Fluency in another European language is a plus.
