Job description are as follows, but will vary during the Firm’s expansion: A new-established Financial intermediary (city based) for a range of investment products, The company is currently looking for a full-time Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer.

Main Responsibilities of the Head of Compliance:

  • Ownership of the Compliance Oversight Function (CF10 & CF10a) and Money Laundry Reporting Function (CF11)
  • To handle all aspects of client money and assets rules (“CASS”) and ensure full adherence at the Firm;
  • To run the Compliance and Internal Controls Functions (including, but not limited to, the approval of new accounts, money laundering, KYC and CDD checks, liaising with the FCA on regulatory matters, liaising with external service providers and consultants, running the company’s Compliance Monitoring Programme.
  • To provide compliance transactional advice;
  • To advise all staff on new rules and regulations;
  • To co-ordinate compliance training in conjunction with HR and internal controls 
  • To liaise with all other areas of the Group, as appropriate, to ensure that appropriate controls are in place for current and new business; 
  • To handle regulatory enquiries, examinations and audit 
  • Check all marketing materials including the website, fact sheets, and RA to ensure they meet compliance regulations 
  • To maintain and update the firm’s policies and procedures in accordance with the FCAs regulatory requirements and the policies and corporate governance guidelines of the Group 
  • To perform the role of Money Laundering Reporting Officer, investigating and providing conclusive analysis of any suspicious transactions in accordance with Money Laundering Regulations and FCA Rules; 
  • To ensure that regulatory and legal reports (including, but not limited to, FCA and Companies House Returns and the like) are prepared and sent on a timely basis 
  • To monitor and report to the CEO on the effectiveness of the controls 
  • To manage subordinate staff in accordance with Group policies in order to promote their further development and training, as well as to guarantee the areas compliance with the company’s policies and procedures and UK legal requirements


Specialist/Technical Knowledge Required: 

  • Experience in compliance, including monitoring, KYC, CDD, internal controls, policy and procedures 
  • Holder of CF10, CF10A and CF11 Controlled functions is ESSENTIAL 
  • Experience in Capital Markets 
  • A relevant qualification in compliance or AML/CFT/fraud prevention is advantageous. 
  • In- depth knowledge of the FCA Handbook, as well as CASS and FATCA
