Team Profile:

The position of a strong HTML5/JavaScript developer has become available in the Matrix Content team within the Sales and Distribution department of the Institutional Securities Technology division. The team develops and maintains a content creation, management and distribution system that supports multiple business lines in the Fixed Income & Commodities and Institutional Equities divisions. The primary purpose of the system is to make content produced by those business lines available to clients as easily as possible, in a compliant fashion.

You will initially be working on the development of a client facing mobile application, built using the Ionic framework, to improve the availability of sales desk-produced content on mobile devices.

Role Profile:

  • Developing high quality, documented, maintainable code and unit tests - mainly in JavaScript/TypeScript using the Ionic and Angular frameworks, following appropriate design patterns.
  • Working closely with product owners on understanding and iterating on requirements.
  • Working closely with User Experience designers on correctly implementing visual designs and user workflows.
  • Providing L3 support for developed code, once it is in production.
  • Work with QA teams to collectively ensure developed code is tested against requirements.
  • Work within an iterative / agile software development lifecycle applied by the team.
  • Keeping up to speed with changing internal and external technology changes and improvements.


Required Skills:

  • Experience in development of HTML5/JavaScript based web applications - preferably using the Angular or Ionic frameworks, to precise UX designs.
  • Experience of development of robust, secure, readable, maintainable, tested, production-quality code.
  • Ability to work within a team, communicating progress, design, issues, ideas effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, ideally in Computer Science or a subject with an extensive coding or Mathematical component.
