The Mandate Control team are responsible for the implementation, coding and monitoring of investment guidelines. The team are integral to front office processes and are sat amongst the fund management team and client solutions group, working closely with them to ensure guidelines are operationally sound and that investment risk limits are adhered to. The Guideline Implementation and Control Manager will manage a team responsible for reviewing LDI investment guidelines prior to their execution so to ensure i) the guidelines accurately reflect the client’s intent and strategy and ii) guidelines are operationally viable and in line with Insight’s key principles.

Key Responsibilities


•Management of the one Guideline Implementation Analyst
•Review draft LDI Investment guidelines prior to their execution to ensure:  
1.Guidelines are in line with Insight's standard templates and key principle  
2.The client's intent has been accurately captures in the guidelines. Challenge the client   team on the suitability of guidelines against the client's intent
3.Implementation frameworks and investment risk limits are operationally supportable and non-ambiguous
4.Where ‘non-standard’ solutions are proposed, devise alternative solutions that are standardised. Develop risk mitigation solutions where required
5.Escalate non-standard proposals to the relevant personnel 
•Work closely with the Client Solutions Group to proactively manage the guideline review process
•Attend guideline execution meetings with the client team, fund managers and quant analysts. Collaborate with the attendees to ensure guidelines are ready for execution
•Manage the LDI investment guideline library. Proactively adapt the library in line with the changing business environment, drafting new templates where required. Train the client teams on how to use the library
•Have a detailed knowledge of internal LDI compliance systems, understanding the various risk limits and the coding processes around these. Work closely with the coding teams to ensure guidelines are captured correctly and efficiently. Support the fund managers with ad-hoc queries related to these risk limits
•Chair guideline committee meetings to obtain approval for guideline library changes
•Chair collateral availability meetings with the fund management and risk teams
•Implement LDI benchmark changes in internal systems
•Produce regular MI on guideline implementation performance
•Involvement with Mandate Control initiatives related to internal compliance systems

Knowledge, skills and experienced required

•Minimum of a BSc in Finance, Mathematics, Economics or equivalent
•Completed or looking to complete the IMC and CFA
•Knowledge of LDI strategy desirable
•Knowledge of derivatives and fixed income instruments
•Experience in the financial services industry within an investment strategy or client/ investment solutions position
•Have the confidence to engage with a variety of people from around the business, including client directors, fund managers, dealers, client services etc
