Man Group has a new opening for a Graduate Finance Analyst - FUM & Margins.

Main Purpose

The role is within the London based Finance department working in the FUM, Revenues & Commissions team. The team is responsible for the complete and accurate reporting of the Group's funds under management (FUM) and net revenue.

This role is focused on FUM and margin calculations, both key metrics for the Group, and the individual is responsible for ensuring that FUM is reported accurately both internally and externally.


FUM & Margins

  • Ensuring FuM is reported in line with guidance
  • Responsible for calculating the Group's actual and run rate revenue on a client facing as well
  • Developing a detailed knowledge of the Group's performance, fund structures, investment exposures
  • Production of the daily FuM flash
  • Calculation and reporting of the weekly FUM flow forecast for distribution to the Executive Committee
  • Prepare and present FUM and margin reporting to the CFO and other senior management in finance
  • Assist in quarter-end, interim and year-end reporting processes with Investor Relations, including investor Q&A preparation
  • Liaise and support the front office investment management and sales teams to ensure FuM is reported accurately
  • Assist the finance business partnering team with the monthly management reporting to the front office teams

Financial Control & Other

  • Involvement in ad-hoc projects and trouble-shooting issues, including assistance with the interpretation of relevant technical issues, and ad-hoc projects in areas which influence the FuM, revenues and commissions team, as required
  • Take a proactive role in questioning processes in place with a view to continuous improvement

Key Skills & Experience

  • Experience: Recent university graduate with finance related work experience with exposure to month end close procedures, or part qualified accountant
  • IT Skills: Must be computer literate with strong excel skills and have the ability to learn new systems. Experience with general ledger systems would be advantageous
  • Accounting: The individual should have the ambition to become a qualified accountant
  • Other: Individual should have a pro-active attitude and be able to work within the FUM, Revenue and Commissions team. A quick learner with attention to detail
