Global Commodity Trading House seeks Investment Analyst with 2-4 years of experience to join the Investment and M&A team. Prior Natural Resources M&A experience is a necessity, as well as fluency in French/Spanish.

The Client and Role:

The Client source, store, blend and deliver essential raw materials and commodities to clients around the world. Commodities include crude oil and petroleum products, non-ferrous concentrates, refined metals and coal.

Due to a pick-up in activity the internal Investment and M&A team are looking to add a Senior Anlayst/Junior Associate with 2-4 years of M&A and/or Private Equity experience in the Natural Resources space (Oil and Gas or Metals and Mining).  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • First class business/financial degree from a leading university
  • 2 to 4 years in a mining/natural resources M&A team of a top investment bank
  • Relevant buy-side experience (minimum 2 completed transactions within mining/natural resources sectors)
  • Private Equity experience will be valued
  • Fluent English (written and spoken to business standard)
  • Fluent in French or Spanish 

Technical skills:

  • Strong financial modelling skills (cash flow, integrated and debt modelling)
  • Proficient in valuation techniques (DCF, trading multiples, precedent transactions, sum-of-parts) and returns analysis (NPV, IRR)
  • Sound knowledge of accounting and cash flow analysis
  • Solid understanding of financial statements
  • Ability to utilise financial information tools (Bloomberg etc.)
  • Experience of managing work streams on M&A or financing
  • Project evaluation and investment framework
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Powerpoint)
