Funds Lawyer, Senior Manager/Associate Director, 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
We're seeking a Funds Lawyer with your experience to join our Macquarie Asset Management division on a 12-month fixed term contract. You will have approximately 5 to 10 years post qualification experience and will support the legal team based in London covering the private credit asset management business of Macquarie Asset Management. This role would report directly to the Head of Legal for Macquarie Asset Management Private Credit.
Macquarie Asset Management's Private Credit investment strategies include infrastructure debt, real estate and fund financing.
Our legal team is embedded within the Private Credit business and the role will provide you with the opportunity to work closely with the Macquarie Asset Management distribution, fund management and investment management teams.
You will be responsible for:
- fund structuring (including AIFs) including the manufacture, development and maintenance of fund structures
- manufacture, development and maintenance of separate managed accounts (SMAs)
- distribution of fund and managed account products
- Macquarie Asset Management's client/investor solutions team
- Macquarie Asset Management Private Credit's Irish ICAV fund platform and management of its sub-funds and feeder vehicles
- growth of Macquarie Asset Management's fund and AIFM platform in Luxembourg
- advice on UK and EU applicable law and regulatory developments
- implementation of regulatory projects (including assistance with managing and driving forward the legal aspects of the projects to completion).
You will be able to demonstrate strong technical legal skills combined with the ability to take a commercial approach to problem solving including the ability to distil complex regulation and legal issues into practical advice. You will have private practice and/or in-house experience in asset management. As Macquarie Asset Management Private Credit is a global investment manager, you will be required to work on cross border transactions with the ability to communicate effectively between EMEA, Australia, Asia and the US.
