A boutique hedge fund, that have a sizeable AUM, are looking to make a newly created COO support hire.
The hire will work for a very successful, multi-strategy hedge fund boutique. The hire will report directly into the COO, with a very close association with the chief risk officer + strong exposure to the CIO from day one. The COO views this as a role that combines operations, fund accounting and trader assistant responsibilities.
The nature of the business means that the role will have cross-asset class exposure. It also means that the hire will get involved in structuring new businesses/funds within the firm, beyond what a standard operations role would typically offer. The remit of the role will evolve over time, but here are some example responsibilities:
*Trade execution
*Street facing to facilitate access to buy and sell (over time the hire will be in charge of selling out of certain positions).
*NAV ownership
*Lead on setting up of new custodian accounts
*Working with the COO on the ongoing business expansion / key projects
Candidates should ideally have 5-10yrs buy-side operations experience. A solid academic profile is important. Balance sheet management / experience is preferred. Advanced excel skills are a necessity.
The role will pay up to a 75k base salary and assuming both the fund and individual perform to a high standard, the hire could potentially achieve a six-figure total comp package year one.
