A specialist fund manager with $24 billion of AUM is looking to hire a Fund Accountant to support its European investment operations. Reporting directly to and working closely with the Fund Controller and the investment staff, the Fund Accountant will be responsible in a broad context for supporting all aspects of the financial reporting and compliance of the European operations as well as working closely with the portfolio team to support the day to day financial monitoring, reporting and compliance of the funds.

Specific responsibilities include:

Investment Support:

  • Responsibility for monitoring and reporting fund leverage facilities
  • Responsibility for booking and monitoring F/X hedges
  • Responsibility of all aspects of loan funding and settlement (investments and divestitures)
  • Oversight of capital calls and distributions
  • Playing a key role in co-ordination and oversight of external fund administrators
  • Working closely with the firm's accountants and service providers on the reporting of the funds as well as supporting the preparation of accounts for the firms funds
  • Working closely with fund auditors, accountants and tax advisers to support their requests
  • Supporting investor reporting
  • Preparation of regulatory filings
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects, both operating and financial, and compile a variety of special reports

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Strong academic record
  • Qualified Accountant supported by relevant experience within asset management (private equity, private credit, or related asset class)
  • Understanding and familiarity with hands on accounts preparation including experience of entering journals and managing ledgers
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and as part of a wider team
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail with ability to synthesize multiple sources of information
  • Capable of managing multiple projects
  • Good understanding/interest in accounting standards
  • Comfortable working to tight deadlines
  • Experience in financial services and familiarity with FCA
  • Strong MS Office skills
