A leading mid-market Private Equity Fund is seeking to appoint a Fund Accountant to their team in London. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and dynamic recently qualified accountant to build an understanding around fund finance within an established and challenging environment.

Role and team 
 Despite the fund accounting and administration functions being outsourced, there is a high volume of funds related work that is completed in-house. The firm provides a best-in-class service to its investors and in order to meet these high standards the firm takes a hands-on approach managing the outsourced fund accountants / administrators. The Fund Accountant will work alongside and support the Fund Accounting Manager and report to the Head of Fund Accounting. 
The funds finance team comprises of the CFO, Head of Fund Accounting, Fund Accounting Manager and a Fund Accountant with support coming from the office admin assistant around some of the basic tasks (purchase ledger, expenses). The team also has support from and works closely with other members of the finance team including the Portfolio Director, General Counsel and the Corporate Accountant. There is a collegiate environment, it is an open team and colleagues are willing to help out to work through challenges together. 

Main responsibilities: 
 The core responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, assisting with: 
 - review of quarterly and annual accounts for various institutional funds, including deal specific and carry entities

- preparation of the quarterly investor reporting for the institutional funds

- regular cash management duties

- preparation and review of drawdowns and complex distribution waterfalls as required

- investor queries as required

- preparation of monthly IRRs for the portfolio, funds and investors

- preparation and review of annual taxation requirements including UK, US and Western Europe 

- liaising with the outsourced fund administrators

- managing the accuracy and integrity of the accounting data presented to investors

- managing the winding-up process for limited partnerships

- various projects within team to help make function ‘best-in-class’ 
 Prerequisite skills and experience 

 We would like the candidate to: 
 - Have previously enjoyed working in the field of fund accounting, preferably in private equity

- Chartered/certified accountant

- 2 to 4 years qualified, with industry / fund administration experience

- Be able to manage short and medium term projects to meet ultimate deadlines

- Be able to work independently and enjoy researching technical matters, also to be able to know when it is appropriate to ask for further guidance to supplement their knowledge

- Be confident to deal with a wide range of stakeholders
