Front Office opportunity (Junior Analyst) – Leading Hedge Fund – 2016/2017 graduate preferred – 50-55k + large bonus potential
Location: London, England, United Kingdom
A market leading, multi-billion dollar AUM hedge fund, experiencing exponential growth + all time high performance, are looking to make a newly created front office hire.
The hire will sit on the investment desk and will be focused on the firm’s flagship fund, working with an exceptional team of Portfolio Managers, and with a unique opportunity to work directly with one of the leading European PM’s in his space. You will work as a ‘junior research analyst’, but with a wider front office remit, as you are well trained to become a future PM for this business. In addition to core market research responsibilities, the hire will - recommend actions to the PMs on how make trades within new market/regulatory constraints; research, plan and then recommend improvements for the enhancement of portfolio returns; create fresh analytics and reporting tools for the desk’s main portfolios; lead portfolio reviews. The hire is encouraged to work with his/her own initiative to suggest new trades and/or alternatives to underperforming trades.
This is a unique opportunity, as whilst the focus is to target candidates with 1-3yrs experience, the preference is to hire a super-bright IB trade support or operations analyst that has been working on a graduate rotation scheme for a top tier institution, feeling somewhat wasted in that environment and looking for a front office move. We would also happily consider an existing IB front office professional with 1-2yrs experience (working in a trader role ideally), that is looking for a move to the hedge fund space. There is an option to consider a 2018 graduate if the hire completed a relevant year in industry or has worked across numerous front office internships.
You will be offered a circa 50/55k base salary. The total comp potential in the role is significant - the hire will be part of the front office bonus profit pool, working within the firm’s top performing business area and as such will receive a large proportion of their salary as a bonus if they perform to a high standard.
