My client, a growing fintech firm specialising in retail lending, is currently recruiting for a Fraud Credit Risk Analyst with a Mathematical bcakground to join their business on a permanent basis in London. This is an urgent role with the manager looking to get interviews booked in quickly.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Drive Fraud & Credit Strategy for the portfolio through rigorous analytics and establishing a strong framework.
  • Enhance exiting definitions of fraud to increase granularity and better explain causality.
  • Aid in devising systems, processes and controls which ensure cases of fraud are effectively identified and categorized.
  • Monitor fraud losses, establish root cause and take corrective action where opportunities exist to prevent fraud themes. Ensure losses remain within risk appetite/budget.
  • Work with other teams across the business (particularly Operations and Central Risk Team) to ensure include fraud mitigation strategies
  • Monitor performance of fraud controls, escalate related issues and challenge vendors to improve performance.
  • Work on proof of concepts involving new technologies and proactively seek out vendor and internal solutions to fraud problems.
  • Lead mapping and documentation of all Fraud processes and controls.
  • Ensure BAU strategies are continuously audited and monitored.
  • Conduct Quality Checks on Fraud and Verification Rules to identify issues with the Risk rules and the Treatment Strategy.
  • Work with Operations to fix Verification issues and ensure the correct solutions/treatment strategies are implemented once the issues are identified.

Key Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative subject or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in a Credit/Fraud Risk unit, ideally within either retail or subprime banking
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced Excel knowledge (VB, Pivots, Macros, etc.)
  • Excellent SAS or SQL knowledge
  • Knowledge of R and igraph highly advantageous
