Financial Crime Manager - Insurance

Our client is a City based Lloyd’s Insurer, looking to recruit a Financial Crime Manager to provide ownership and responsibility for day-to-day management of all financial crime risks faced by the firm. You will work as part of the wider compliance function but will be able to oversee the Financial Crime activities day-to-day, meaning you will be a central figure in how the firm tackle their risk.

You will work as part of the wider compliance function but will be able to oversee the Financial Crime activities day-to-day, meaning you will be a central figure in how the firm tackle their risk.

 

My client have established Financial Crime infrastructure in place, so your role will be focused on interacting with the business to help minimize Financial Crime risk. You will need to be commercial and be willing to positively engage with the businesses’ aims, so a practical approach to how to tackle this risk will be necessary. There will be no line management responsibilities with this role, and you will report into the Head of Compliance / MLRO for the firm, meaning you will have regular contact and buy-in from senior stakeholders.

 

In addition, other responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with monitoring of relevant risk, primarily sanctions focused, on a screening basis.
  • Decide on how new requirements from the FCA are implemented into existing policy within the Financial Crime space.
  • After monitoring sanctions screening, ensure appropriate decisions are taken to address possible sanctions issues.

 

You will have:

  • 4 years’ experience in Financial Crime (primarily AML & Sanctions) within a large FS firm.
  • Leading knowledge and understanding of FCC risks, with proven experience of monitoring/advising with the business.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Law degree highly desirable.
  • Proven ability of engaging with stakeholders on a regular basis & a desire to receive exposure to the highest level.
