SIEL is expanding its Financial Crime Compliance Team and is looking to appoint an individual to assist in the design, execution and on-going support of its Financial Crime framework. SIEL defines financial crime as Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing, Bribery and Corruption, breaches of Data Security (including Cyber Security), Fraud (including Cyber Crime), Market Abuse, Tax Evasion and breaches of Economic and Financial Sanctions

Summary:

SIEL is expanding its Financial Crime Compliance Team and is looking to appoint an individual to assist in the design, execution and on-going support of its Financial Crime framework. SIEL defines financial crime as Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing, Bribery and Corruption, breaches of Data Security (including Cyber Security), Fraud (including Cyber Crime), Market Abuse, Tax Evasion and breaches of Economic and Financial Sanctions.

The successful candidate will be providing second line support and oversight to SIEL in all of these categories, in some instances acting as the first point of escalation for the business and directly supporting the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (“MLRO”), Data Protection Officer (“DPO”) and other relevant senior managers. The candidate will also have the opportunity to deputise for the MLRO and DPO in certain ad hoc instances and management committees, with an opportunity (with training and support) to progress to a formal Deputy status over time.

 

What you’ll do:

  • You will be involved in establishing the basis on which a risk-based approach to the prevention of financial crime is put into practice by Senior Management ;
  • You will perform regular assessments of the adequacy of all Financial Crime systems and controls and, in conjunction with the Head of Financial Crime, oversee the implementation of appropriate enhancements designed to ensure continuous compliance with applicable laws and regulations;
  • You will review and investigate AML, Fraud and Market Abuse related suspicious activities; and
  • You will review and advise on suspected data protection breaches and Subject Access and Right to be Forgotten Requests (in conjunction with the SIEL Data Protection Officer);
  • You will provide financial crime compliance subject matter expertise and other support as required for SIEL’s UK business.

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Demonstrable anti-Financial Crime work experience, including some monitoring experience.
  • Good general knowledge of financial crime legislation and regulation.
  • Strong organisational, research and technical information gathering skills.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal), including report writing
