This Financial Controller position is with an established asset management firm. The successful candidate will be taking a broad role, part of a small team, offering great culture and fantastic career prospects.

This Financial Controller position is with a leading financial services business.


The responsibilities of the successful candidate for this Financial Controller position will include:

  • Responsible for the London trial balance for the Group management accounts including review of all journals (assisting where necessary), reconciliations and variance analysis. Providing commentary to the parent company on London's actuals to budget and forecast to budget;
  • Responsible for the accurate forecasting of London expenses. Monitoring spend on projects by working closely with department heads to ensure all costs are forecasted accurately;
  • Prepare the consolidated statutory accounts (UK GAAP), for the limited company and LLP;
  • Prepare the corporation tax return and partnership tax return for limited company and LLP;
  • Review AAF and audit evidence and be first point of contact for the auditors;
  • Assist with the preparation and reconciliation of distributions to members;
  • Responsible for the preparation of the annual London budget along with supporting calculations and assumptions. Working along side the department heads to provide the most accurate estimations;
  • Responsible for the quarterly consolidated VAT returns, partial exception calculations and capital goods scheme calculations;
  • Responsible for the quarterly rebate calculations;
  • Prepare and review management fees and invoices;
  • Review of monthly payroll and pension calculations;
  • Review of P60s, ERS submission, P11D and PSA return;
  • Assist with the preparation of the ICAAP (to be replaced by the ICARA) and FCA returns including the monitoring of capital adequacy ratios;
  • Assist with the office and computer insurance renewals;
  • Assist the Head of HR with the Company Secretarial duties; including the preparations of Companies House filings;
  • Provide ad hoc support to the Parent company;
  • Provide cover, support and mentoring for the continued development of the Accounts Assistant:
  • Provide support to the Head of Finance and CFO; and
  • Other ad hoc projects as they arise.


The exposure of the successful candidate will include:

  • Full Financial Accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CPA/CA)
  • Post-qualified, ideally with experience in the financial services industry;
  • Strong IT skills, in particular Microsoft Excel;
  • Ability to manage own workload;
  • Attention to detail; and
  • Team player in a group environment.
