This is an exciting opportunity for a Financial Analyst, with experience in finance and accounting to join the FCA's Competition Team.

You will work across a range of activities, including: market studies, competition enforcement cases, and internal investigatory work, to drive forward the FCA's competition mandate as part of a cross-disciplinary team with competition lawyers, economists, and industry specialists.

In addition to having excellent financial analysis skills, you will need to demonstrate great people skills to allow you to effectively engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

The roles require a high degree of judgement, tenacity and the appetite to work on intellectually challenging questions with important implications for the 40 million consumers of financial services and the stability of our economy as a whole.

You will work alongside competition economists and lawyers and other professionals in a multi-disciplinary environment, contributing finance.

About you

Minimum

•An accountancy or similar financial qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, MBA with a significant financial component)
•Proven experience of designing and delivering complex financial analysis, for example in a commercial or regulatory environment

Essential
•Experience of designing and delivering high quality financial analysis
•Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
•Ability to deliver and thrive in a fast-moving environment, maintaining pace and quality of delivery
•Excellent communication skills
•Project and work management skills

Desirable
•It would be beneficial but not essential for you to have experience in financial services and/or a particular financial sector - For example, you may have worked in the Audit, Treasury, Strategy, FP&A, CRO's office, or an operating division of a bank as a financial analyst/specialist
•Relevant commercial financial experience in modelling, forecasting, pricing and competitor analysis
•Experience in competition investigations and/or economic regulation
•Experience in audit or corporate finance
•Management experience

We are also part of the UK Competition Network and work with Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) on financial services matters.
