The role: * To support the Senior Manager monitoring the 1st line Finance operations CASS activities including; daily reconciliations, month end processes, reporting and queries. * Ensuring that all client money is treated appropriately in accordance with the FCA's CASS handbook on a daily basis. * This is an important role in ensuring that the business meets its regulatory requirements, that customer money receives the appropriate protection to ensure that the bank remains compliant with the CASS rules, avoids regulatory censure and continues to meet our client's obligations.

The role:

  • To support the Senior Manager monitoring the 1st line Finance operations CASS activities including; daily reconciliations, month end processes, reporting and queries.

  • Ensuring that all client money is treated appropriately in accordance with the FCA's CASS handbook on a daily basis.

  • This is an important role in ensuring that the business meets its regulatory requirements, that customer money receives the appropriate protection to ensure that the bank remains compliant with the CASS rules, avoids regulatory censure and continues to meet our client's obligations.

Principal accountability's for this role are:

  • Ensure that the daily client money reconciliations are completed in accordance with the FCA CASS rules and guidance

  • Ensure that all shortfalls/excesses in client money have been resolved by close of business the same day

  • As a subject matter expert will be expected to assist and guide the team in resolving complex queries

  • Will act as a liaison with internal and external technical queries and will support the business with appropriate recommendations to address these challenges

  • Produce regulatory reporting, including but not limited to CMAR and CASS RP

  • Deliver small scale projects or defined tasks within larger projects to improve support to the business and to help deliver the company's strategic initiatives

  • Represent Finance, and in particular CASS, interests in projects, rectifications and change programmes ensuring that we meet our regulatory requirements and customers receive adequate protection at all times

  • Evaluate processes and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Group Minimum Standards directing adjustments as required.

  • Complete regular end-to-end review of CASS processes, ensuring documented controls are in operation and compliance to company policies and regulatory requirements

  • Map CASS rules to business processes highlighting risk of breaches and recommend appropriate controls to minimise risk of breaches occurring

  • Record and investigate breaches, taking ownership of appropriate reporting, corrective action and recommending preventative actions.

  • Produce regular MI to report Financial position of reconciliations and accounts, both internally and externally

  • Produce training material relating to CASS processes and support training where required

The successful candidate is likely to demonstrate the following:

Essential:

Qualifications

  • ACCA or equivalent

Skills

  • Advanced MS Excel

Experience

    • Accounting background within a Financial Services company where Client Money is applied

    • Applying CASS regulations to Operational processes

    • Client money reconciliations

    • Regulatory reporting

Desirable:

Qualifications

  • FA4 and/or FA5

Skills

  • Macros

Experience

  • Working in a Mutual Fund/Transfer Agency environment

  • Working in an outsource provider environment

  • Delivering presentations and MI at a senior level
