The Finance Business Partner provides high quality analysis and insight and decision support to the Business Unit Chief Financial Officer and other business stakeholders to help achieve the Group’s and the Business Unit’s objectives and strategy.

About the Role

  • Trusted business advisor and partner, ensuring business knowledge is current and having an awareness of issues and challenges, new initiatives etc. that the Business Unit faces
  • Responsible for the analysis and interpretation of Financial Performance of the Business Unit
  • Key role in the annual business planning and forecasting cycles, working closely with functional stakeholders to ensure submissions are robust, timely and in line with Group expectations
  • Perform analytical review on Business Unit results, providing qualitative commentary, understanding variances between actual, forecast and budget performance
  • Identify value opportunities that require a particular intervention / project support from the Business Partner team
  • Undertake major performance interventions if needed and review impacts of performance interventions
  • Respond to and proactively seek opportunities for efficiency to drive better decision making around resource allocation and budget setting
  • Advocate for change, challenge status quo and seek improvements
  • Build relationships across Quilter plc Finance to learn from and share best practice and standards
  • Identify major risks and opportunities
  • Partnering with the Group Finance to assist and monitor progress towards Optimisation targets
  • Develop corrective actions to close gaps to targets
  • Decision support, assisting with ad hoc analysis, scenario modelling, reporting etc.
  • Provide insight and explanation to stakeholders within the wider Quilter Group

Knowledge and Experience

  • Qualified Accountant
  • Prior Business Partnering experience is a pre-requisite, including having worked in FTSE organisations, most preferably in the Asset Management sector
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management capability
  • Ability to interrogate systems and navigate complex infrastructure and organisation
  • Experience with the identification of risks and opportunities in the P&L
  • Experience in driving P&L performance improvements (e.g. closing gaps vs. target) and holding others accountable (particularly peers and senior leadership)
  • Significant experience managing a large and complex set of stakeholders
  • Experience in presenting to and communicating with senior Finance and non-Finance stakeholders
  • Demonstrated competency at growing and developing people / teams
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.)
