FI Dealing Desk Assistant - 12 Month FTC

The Opportunity:

We are looking to recruit an experienced dealing support person to join the team, (on a Temp / FTC basis initially) to provide secondment cover. You will be responsible for providing day to day support of dealing activities for the Fixed Income Business working closely with the Fixed Income Dealing Desk, with increasing cross-over into other Front Office teams.

The Desk trade a variety of instruments for business areas including Institutional, Internal, Retail Fixed Income, Macro Investment Business, Alternative Credit, Leveraged Finance, the Prudential Portfolio Management Group ('PPMG') and Prudential Capital ('PruCap'). The Desk is a centralised function within the Fixed Income division with sole responsibility for the execution of fixed income orders on behalf of MAGIM. The Desk is situated amongst the Retail Fixed Income, Internal and Institutional Fund Management teams.

The team is responsible for ensuring all COB's Sourcebook, 'first line' activities are reviewed by the desk, (working with the Equity DDA's where appropriate), all query resolution in respect of the dealing desk and processes within, as well as providing regular reporting for the quarterly Trade Execution Review Forum, Dealing Management Committee statistics as and when required, supporting MiFID II Post Trade Reporting and representing the dealing desk on various projects where required.

You will be responsible for the following tasks:

Dealing Desk Support:

* Help field all trade enquiries to and from dealers and prioritise all dealing desk responses.
* Undertake ad hoc tasks as and when required (e.g. Review of execution rates with the dealers annually, complete any counterparty breach forms, confirmation of novation process and external stakeholder management / dealing relationships)
* Represent M&G Dealers and Fixed Income Dealing Team specifically at Operational meetings


* Ensure that all controls in respect of COB's monitoring are carried out as required with a good understanding of relevant CSC's across the Front Office.
* Work with Dealing desk and BMT's to regularly review and update all Dealing Procedures and associated control documents / post trade transaction reporting oversight.
* Regular meeting with the Settlements / DMT teams to resolve any issues.
* Escalation and reporting of dealing errors where applicable

Problem solving / Systems:

* Work with the FI dealing desk and internal teams to improve processes, address required system enhancements, implement positive change where necessary and update procedures or "how too guides" accordingly.
* Resolve queries / issues on behalf of the Fixed Income Dealers. Investigate any Investment Management Losses on behalf of Fixed Income Dealing Desk working with C&A team.
* Desk related system knowledge and involvement with related upgrades or UAT, (ideally including OMS providers such as Aladdin, alongside vendors like Vista and Tradeweb).

Reporting / Oversight:

* Provision to the DMC / TERF's of trading related information requirements and analysis.
* Supporting the maintenance and evolution of COBS Monitoring work across all asset classes.
* Support of generation of Hit Ratio%'s / Counterparty Review Reporting both for quarterly / bi-annual counterparty meetings alongside RTS 28 report production, (e.g. Top 5 providers).

What we are looking for:

You will have experience working on a Fixed Income dealing desk / related operational and settlement processes, as well as this you will be experienced in execution quality / trading oversight and related MI production. You will have excellent communication with the ability to liaise effectively with people at all levels. It is essential for you to be organised and able to prioritise appropriately with some previous exposure to MiFID II regulations. You will be a highly motivated and driven individual who can work effectively under pressure / tight deadlines. Strong IT skills are a must, as is an interest with high levels of accuracy, attention to detail is also required.
